The decision has been taken by the Punjab & Haryana High Court Bar Association in view of various instances of "constant insults and use of language of disrespect by some of the honorable benches received in the office of the Bar Association".

The decision was taken in an emergency meeting of the Executive Committee which was held today (17th March).
The resolution released by the Punjab & Haryana High Court Bar Association states that it has received various complaint from the Bar members regarding the disrespect meted to them in the Court of Justice H. S. Madaan.
The resolution specifically states that the Bench of Justice H. S. Madaan has insulted and misbehaved with HCBA's member S. H. Parminder Singh Sekhol, a leading Criminal Lawyer practicing in this Court for 17 years.
Significantly, the resolution states,
"The Honourable Judge in question was requested many times to treat the members of the Bar on the principles of equality which is sine qua non for maintaining the dignity of the Bar. However, repeated complaints have been received."
The resolution further states that any kind of insult or use of cursive langauge and snubbing attitude of the members of the Bench is unacceptable and against the Constitutional Scheme of things baded on the Maxim 'absit iniuria verbis' and 'absit invidia'.
Lastly, the Association has directed the members and non-members to not appear in the Court of Justice H. S. Madaan, "failing which the disciplinary action shall be initiated against such a member."
