Punjab & Haryana High Court Judge Pankaj Jain Inspects Rewari District Jail; Inaugurates Legal Aid Clinic, Video Conferencing Room

Punjab and Haryana High Court Judge Pankaj Jain visited the District Jail in Rewari on Sunday and reviewed the facilities being provided to inmates. On the occasion, District and Sessions Judge Gurvinder Singh Wadhwa, CJM and DLSA Secretary Amit Verma, CJM Dr. Renu Solkhe, ADC Rahul Modi, DSP Pawan Kumar, and Jail Superintendent Surender Singh Dalal were present.

During the visit, Justice Jain inaugurated a Legal Aid Clinic and a Video Conferencing Room inside the control room of the district jail. He also reviewed various aspects of jail administration, including the number of inmates, security arrangements, healthcare services, cleanliness, food quality, and legal aid facilities.

The Judge interacted with inmates to understand the facilities available to them and also planted saplings in the jail premises. While interacting with officials, Justice Jain emphasised the need to provide vocational training to prisoners to enable their reintegration into society and promote self-reliance after release.

Jail Superintendent Surender Singh Dalal stated that balanced and nutritious food is being provided to inmates as per the prescribed menu, with due attention to quality.

Following the inspection, Justice Jain expressed satisfaction with the arrangements made by the jail administration and issued directions for further improvements. He observed that it is the responsibility of the jail administration to ensure that inmates are provided essential facilities with a humane approach.
