RGNUL Vice-Chancellor Prof. Jaishankar Singh Nominated To National Legal Services Authority
The Central Government, through Notification No. S.O. 5539(E) issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice (Department of Justice) under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, has nominated Prof. (Dr.) Jaishankar Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Punjab, as a Member of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA).
As a Member of NALSA, Prof. Jaishankar Singh will contribute to advancing access to justice by ensuring effective delivery of free legal aid, promoting legal literacy, strengthening Lok Adalats, and coordinating with State and District Legal Services Authorities for efficient implementation of legal aid policies.
Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab is actively organising outreach programmes for legal aid and legal services. The University is working with Weaker Sections of the Society and conducts social welfare activities in the State of Punjab sponsored by State and Central Government. The University has adopted villages and undertakes programmes to make them aware of their legal rights and duties.
