RSLSA Launches 'Transformative Tuesdays' Campaign; Legal Awareness Drive Targets Lakhs Of Students
The Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority (RSLSA) has launched a statewide campaign titled “Transformative Tuesdays: Navigating Life Legally” to promote legal awareness and constitutional values among school students.
The initiative aims to integrate legal literacy into the daily lives of students from Classes 8 to 12, with a focus on rights, duties, and responsible citizenship.
The campaign is being implemented under the leadership of Justice Sanjeev Prakash Sharma, Acting Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court and Executive Chairman, RSLSA, and is coordinated by Member Secretary Hari Om Attri.
The initiative was formally launched during the inaugural ceremony of a three-day Cyber Conference organised by RSLSA from March 20 to 22, 2026, in the presence of Justice Surya Kant, Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah, Justice Rajesh Bindal, Justice Prasanna Bhalachandra Varale, and Justice N. Kotiswar Singh, Judges of the Supreme Court, along with Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and other dignitaries.
Justice Sanjeev Prakash Sharma observed, “Legal awareness must not remain confined to courtrooms; it must reach every classroom, shaping informed citizens who understand their rights, duties, and the rule of law from an early age.”
Large-Scale Outreach in Schools
Approximately 1,300–1,400 judicial officers have been mobilised across Rajasthan to conduct legal awareness sessions in nearly 1,400 schools. With each officer engaging around 200 students, the initiative has the potential to reach over four lakh students in a single day.
The sessions adopt an interactive approach, including discussions and case-based illustrations, to help students understand the practical application of law. Students are being sensitised on issues such as constitutional rights, legal aid, child rights, women's rights, cybercrime, and civic responsibility.
'Court Wali Didi' Mechanism
As part of the campaign, a child-friendly grievance redressal mechanism titled “Court Wali Didi” has been introduced in schools. The platform allows students to raise concerns related to bullying, academic stress, cyber issues, and other challenges. Appropriate legal guidance, counselling, and support are provided through structured intervention.
Focus on Cyber Safety
The inaugural session held on April 7 was themed “Think Before You Click: Stay Safe Online — The Internet Remembers Everything.” Through interactive sessions, students were informed about cyber risks, digital footprints, online fraud, and responsible online behaviour. The programme also addresses issues such as offences against children, peer pressure, substance abuse, and mental health.
Weekly Initiative
The campaign will be conducted regularly every Tuesday across schools in the State. Upcoming sessions will cover issues including drug abuse, POCSO awareness, mental health, child trafficking, kidnapping, and domestic violence. Legal awareness materials are also being disseminated through digital platforms and parent networks to extend outreach beyond classrooms.
The initiative seeks to strengthen legal awareness at the grassroots level by connecting the justice delivery system with the community and promoting informed citizenship.
