The Supreme Court will commemorate the first ever 'International Day of Women Judges' tomorrow(March 10). The special programme organised by Supreme Court Registry, shall be held on 10 March, 2022 through online mode.

The event is organised in furtherance of a United Nations General Assembly resolution which had resolved on 28 April, 2021 to proclaim 10 March of each year as the 'International Day of Women Judges'. It called upon the Member States to observe the same, 'in order to promote the full and equal participation of women at all levels of the judiciary'.

The event being organised as per the direction of  the Chief Justice of India, shall commence at 5 pm. 

"All the women Hon'ble Judges of the Constitutional Courts and all the women Judicial Officers from across the country are invited to join the programme, online," the press release states.

Shri Justice N. V. Ramana, the Chief Justice of India, Ms. Justice Indira Banerjee, Ms. Justice Hima Kohli, Mrs. Justice B. V. Nagarathna and Ms. Justice Bela M. Trivedi, Hon'ble Judges of the Supreme Court will take part in the event from the Supreme Court of India.
