The Supreme Court Collegium recently rejected the proposal by the High Court Collegium to recommend three Advocates for elevation to Gujarat High Court.

The Collegium comprising Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra, Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justice MB Lokur noted that two of the Advocates—Amar Dhirajlal Mithani and Udayan Pankajkumar Vyas— do not satisfy the prescribed professional income criterion, and remitted their candidature to the High Court Chief Justice.

On a scrutiny of the material place before it, the Collegium also resolved to remit the proposal for elevation of Advocate Mehul Sharabhai Shah to the Chief Justice of the High Court.
