SC discontinues practice of printing hard copies of judgments and Cause Lists, w.e.f 1st February

The Supreme Court, vide circular dated January 21 has discontinued the practice of printing and rolling out hard copies of judgments by the Editorial Branch of the Registry, with effect from 1st February, 2015.
Earlier, 80 copies of the judgments used to be rolled out and printed. This number has been reduced to 14 for civil, 16 for criminal and 18 for a death case.
The Judgments will now have to be downloaded from the website of the Supreme Court of India for any contingent/miscellaneous requirements.
Furthermore, the practice of printing and rolling out hard copies of the Cause Lists will also be discontinues with effect from 1st February, 2015. The Cause Lists will now be e-mailed to all advocates. Supreme Court Bar Association and Supreme Court Advocates on Record Association was hence urged to furnish the Email ids of all advocates by 20th January.
