The Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue has imposed Anti-Dumping Duty on imports of “2-Ethyl Hexanol” from European Union, Indonesia, Korea RP, Malaysia, Taiwan and United States of America till June 26, 2026.
2-Ethyl Hexanol. 2-Ethyl Hexanol is a basic organic chemical. It is produced on a massive scale for use in numerous applications such as solvents, flavours, and fragrances and especially as a precursor for production of other chemicals such as emollients and plasticizers.
The Notification dated December 25, 2025 amended a 2021 Notification, recommending a continued imposition of Anti-Dumping Duty at rates up to USD 29.61/MT for the US, with lower base rates for others.
To counter dumping (selling below normal value) and protect local manufacturers from unfair competition, the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) on an application filed by Andhra Petrochemicals Limited closed the Sunset Review Investigation. From verification of cost data, DGTR inferred that production, sales and capacity utilization of the domestic industry has increased till 2018-19 but declined in the period of investigation i.e. April, 2019 to March, 2020
