The Supreme Court on Monday refused urgent listing for a petition concerning the Indigo flight crisis, observing that the Government of India has already taken cognizance of the issue.

A counsel mentioned the matter relating to the plight of passengers left stranded across several airports in the country after many Indigo Flights abruptly cancelled their operations over last few days. "Without giving intimation, the company has cancelled flights. It is a serious issue," the counsel told a bench comprising Chief Justice of India and Justice Joymalya Bagchi.

"We understand that lakhs of people are stranded at airport. People having urgent work, people in need of urgent health issues...But the Government of India has taken cognizance. Timely action appears to have been taken. Let us see what happens after some time. There is no urgency right now," CJI Surya Kant said.
