'Jana Nayagan' Movie Case : Live Updates From Madras High Court Hearing | CBFC Appeal against Vijay's Film
Parasaran informs the court that on 31/12, Amazon had informed the producers that they would sue if there was no clarity regarding the date of release. Adds that producers have invested a lot of money.
Parasaran: Every scene that he wanted deleted having been deleted already..what is there?
CJ: Is this on fact?
Parasaran: All this is on facts. It has not been disputed
Parasaran: What joy do they have in killing the same scenes? They want me to re-introduce deleted scenes so that it can be again decided by another committee
Parasaran says that the complaint sought for deletion of scenes which were deleted.
Parasaran: They want us to re-introduce the scenes that were deleted, submit the movie as it was before and then delete the same scenes. It's an empty exercise
Parasaran: It would be an absurdity to interpret it in any manner other than what the single judge has done.
The judges are discussing among themselves
Parasaran says the writ court had rightly noted that revision can be done only either suo moto or by the applicant. Says when the complaint was made in a sealed cover, the applicant could not have responded
Parasaran: We only have the communication from the regional officer.
ASG: The communication is from the CBFC chairperson Prasoon Joshi to the regional officer Balamurugan
CJ: Where is this letter? The matter has traveled from the writ court to the appeal court but no one has seen this document
CJ: Show us where is the decision by the chairman. Because as per the statute, that is the decision of the board.
ASG: That will not be here your honour. It will be uploaded in the e-cinepraman and a copy of it was given to the single judge.
