Justice Sanjay Kumar Bars Advocates From Approaching Court Officers After Lawyer's Son Abuses Staff Over Phone
Justice Sanjay Kumar today barred Advocates on Record from approaching Court officers in his Court after an Advocate's son called an officer and used abusive language against her.
This morning, when the mentioning was being made in Court 8, Justice Kumar called an advocate-on-record and questioned whether he had taught his son no manners on how to speak to a woman.
Justice Kumar told the advocate: "Who spoke to her on the phone? You spoke to her? Your son spoke to her and you have obviously not taught him how to speak to a lady. Perhaps its time you did so first. Now, as a consequence of your action, from now henceforth all physical appearances will be immediately given as soon as the case is over, no one will speak to my court officers about it, be it in person or on phone. No one will approach them or speak to them."
Justice Kumar stated that it would be wrong to call the advocate's son a gentleman because of the kind of insinuating language he used against the Court officer.
"He used abusive language, who do he think he is? Is he a lawyer? Any member of the Supreme Court Bar Association elected member is here? We should refer you also, you should be referred to SCOAORA also. If you can't teach your officer members, including your family, how to speak to a woman then perhaps they have no right to even addressing a woman. Don't even dare to make a mention now! Henceforth, I am serious about this. No one will approach the Court Officers. I will not have my Court Officers being abused like this! They do their jobs with utmost diligence. You make all kinds of insinuation, using all kinds of abusive language. There is no limit to this to the extent I can go on, you made me lose my temper first thing in the morning."
