[Live Updates] Delhi Riots Case Hearing In SC : Plea To Register FIR For Hate Speeches

SG says he be allowed to file his report and be granted time till Monday, next week.

However, the CJI says that the petition of Delhi Riots and all other related petitions will be heard on Friday this week.

SG : Riots cannot take place because of one or two speeches. Its fallacious to believe that.

CJI: We will request the CJ of the Delhi High court to hear the matter of #DelhiRiots on Friday. 

CJI : not in the merits, don’t argue for merits. We think adjournment by the DHC for such long period is unjustified.

We don’t think the extent of such period of adjourning the matter is justified. We are of the view that the matter be heard on Friday, adds CJI

“I am not challenging this order because i don’t want things to escalate", SG

Gonsalves : “My problem is that these leaders are roaming free”

Gonsales adds that he’s disappointed with the sequence of events.

SG interjects: “I’m more that disappointed! This order should not hve been passed. I was heckled”

Gonsalves adds that had these inflammatory speeches not been made, no rioys would have happened.

CJI: We also have experience in riots. Sometimes if you catch leaders and lock them up, the riots flare up.

Gonsalves currently reading out order by the Delhi High court of Justices Muralidhar & Talwant Singh.

SG says this order should not have been passed. "It was wrong", he says.

Senior Advocate Gonsalves now takes the Bench through the video clips of Kapil Mishra, Anurag Thakur & Parvesh Verma and acquaints the Court with the sequence of events that ensued in the Delhi High Court.
