The President of India has nominated Justice Vikram Nath of the Supreme Court as the Executive Chairperson of the National Legal Services Authority with effect from November 24, 2025.
A notification in that regard was issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice announcing the President's nomination in exercise of powers under Section 3(2)(b) of the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987.
As per convention, the second senior judge of the Supreme Court is appointed as the NALSA Executive Chairman.
