Supreme Court Senior Designation Committee Seeks Feedback On 293 Applications For Senior Designation

The Supreme Court has published a list of advocates who have applied for designation as Senior Advocates, inviting suggestions and views from stakeholders before the matter is placed before the Full Court.

A notice issued on March 16, 2026 by the Committee for Designation of Senior Advocates (CDSA) states that applications were received pursuant to earlier notices dated February 12 and February 19, 2026.

The CDSA has invited suggestions or views from stakeholders regarding the applicants in accordance with paragraphs 11 and 12 of the Supreme Court's Guidelines for Designation of Senior Advocates, 2026.

The notice states that any suggestions or views, along with verifiable material, may be submitted to the CDSA Secretariat at the Supreme Court or sent through email.

Such inputs must be submitted by 4:30 pm on April 1, 2026, failing which they will not be considered.

The suggestions will be placed before the Full Court of the Supreme Court while considering the proposals for designation.

According to the list annexed to the notice, 293 advocates have applied for designation as Senior Advocates in this round.

The applicants include several Advocates-on-Record (AoRs) practising before the Supreme Court as well as advocates from different parts of the country.
