Prinicipal bench of National Green Tribunal has directed the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board, to file a compliance report on the action taken against M/s Hillal Bone Mill at village Babeina, which is found causing, Air and Noise Pollution in the surrounding area even after taking remedial action.

A bench led by Chairperson Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel gave the direction while hearing a petition filed by Bhudev Singh. The tribunal had vide order dated April 30, directed the State PCB to test the efficacy of bio-filters to check the odour and furnish a further report.

The report submitted by the State PCB stated that "Considering the facts that the operations of Bio-filters has not been found proper for reduction of odour concentration and working efficiency has been found only 58.25%, which shows that the odour control equipment is not adequate, the legal proceeding has been initiated under the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 & the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974."

The state PCB has in his report said "The compliance and action taken report shall be submitted before the next date of hearing to the Honourable NGT."
