S. Verma Human Rights Advocacy Training & Mock Trial.
Duration
The course will be taught from 21st November till 26th November, 2019 at National Law University Delhi, between 10am – 5pm, daily.
About
The programme is aimed at honing the fundamental skills of trial advocacy. The advocacy exercises will involve vulnerable witnesses & gender justice issues and the training will be through multiple fictitious practical exercises including, Examination-in-Chief, Cross Examination and Speech Making.
The course shall be taught by India's pioneering human rights jurists in collaboration with barristers from UK's leading Civil Liberties and Human Rights Chambers (Doughty Street), London's leading Human Rights NGO (JUSTICE) and a specialist intermediary for vulnerable witnesses. On the last day of the course, i.e., on November 26, a Mock Trial will be conducted, judged by practicing lawyers from the Indian Supreme Court and eminent judges.
The candidates will receive individualized feedback to work upon their shortcomings and will be awarded a Certificate on completion of the course.
Application Process
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and a maximum number of 25 students shall be selected. Interested persons are therefore encouraged to apply as early as possible.

Fee Structure
No course fees will be charged. However, a candidate will be expected to attend on all days of the course.
