The Delhi High Court has asked Lieutenant Governor (LG) Vinai Kumar Saxena to consider approving the Rules on appointment of local commissioners and receivers in the district courts in the national capital.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice DK Upadhyaya and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela disposed of a writ petition filed by Advocate Rajiv Khosla.

The High Court's counsel said that the Rules rules relating to appointment of Local Commissioner and Receiver in matters in the Delhi High Court have been finalised and notified on September 02.

It was also stated that the Rules relating to District Courts were pending approval before the Lieutenant Governor.

“In the aforesaid view of the matter, we dispose of this writ petition with the hope that the issue relating to approval of the rules concerning the matters in the District Courts shall be attended to by the learned Lieutenant Governor and requisite approval shall be granted at the earliest,” the Bench directed.

It also ordered that the Rules notified regarding the Delhi High Court shall be circulated amongst all the Bar Associations in the national capital.

“We request, Mr.Sameer Vashisht, learned Standing Counsel to communicate this order to the Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor,” the Court directed while closing the matter.
