A plea has been filed before the Delhi High Court challenging the rejection of permission to hold a protest against the E20 petrol-ethanol blending policy at Jantar Mantar in the national capital.
The matter was heard by Justice Amit Mahajan on September 29.
The petitioners, Robin Michael and an another individual, had sought permission to hold a peaceful demonstration on October 02, from 10 AM to 5 PM.
They approached the High Court seeking to quash the Delhi Police's decision rejecting and not granting permission for the proposed protest.
Appearing for the Union of India, Standing Counsel Amit Tiwari informed the Court that the request had been rejected in view of the law-and-order situation in the area.
He further submitted that a copy of the rejection order had been sent to the petitioners by email.
The counsel for the petitioners then sought time to file an appropriate application challenging the rejection order.
The Court accordingly listed the matter for hearing next on October 27.
