The Karnataka High Court was recently informed that the investigation in the abetment to suicide case registered against Ola Electric Technologies Private Limited CEO Bhavish Agarwal and others is now being conducted by the Central Crime Branch (CCB), Bengaluru.

Justice Mohammad Nawaz recorded in its order (December 5) the submission of the government advocate that investigation is now being conducted by the Central Crime Branch (CCB), Bengaluru.

The court had earlier directed the police to submit the stage of investigation and as to whether the FSL report regarding the death note has been received or not. The government informed that the FSL report is awaited.

Following which, the court said, “The directions issued by this Court to the concerned police not to harass the petitioners shall continue and at the same time, petitioners shall co-operate with the investigation of the case. List this petition on 21.1.2026.”

The FIR was registered on October 6, at the Subramanyapura Police Stationbased on the complaint of Ashwin Kannan brother of deceased K Aravind, who allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison. It is alleged that he left behind a suicide alleging workplace harassment and denial of his salary dues and other perks by the petitioners. The police have registered a case under section 108(Abetment of Suicide), 3(5) (common intention) of BNS, 2023.

The petitioners have approached the court seeking to quash the FIR. By way of interim relief they have sought for the stay of all investigation and directed the police not to take any coercive action against them.
