The Punjab & Haryana High Court today (November 21) designated Advocate General Maninderjit Singh Bedi as Senior Advocate.

“In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 16(2) of the Advocates Act 1961, the High Court of Punjab and Haryana at Chandigarh has been pleased to designate Sh. Maninderjit Singh Bedi, Advocate…as Senior Advocate with effect frorp ,the date of notification,” the notification stated.


Maninderjit Singh Bedi, hails from Phul Town in Bathinda district. A law graduate from Punjabi University, Patiala (Class of 2005), Bedi began his legal career under the mentorship of his paternal uncle while practicing at Rampura Phul.

In 2009, he shifted his practice to Chandigarh and handled a wide range of cases including constitutional, civil, criminal, service, revenue, and corporate matters. Over the years, Bedi has served as panel counsel for several key state bodies, including PSPCL, PTU, ULBs, and PUNGRAIN.

Notably, he held the post of Additional Advocate General, Punjab, from July 2023 to March 2025, during which he represented the state in the High Court and the Supreme Court. 

He was appointed as the Advocate General of Punjab in March this year.
