The Centre for Policies, Laws and Agenda, NUSRL (CPLAN), was established in the year 2023 at the National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi (NUSRL). The primary objective and idea behind the inception of the Centre is to promote and facilitate research and activities in the field of Constitutional Law, Legislative Drafting, and Policy Research. About Call for Blogs
The Centre for Policies, Laws and Agenda, NUSRL (CPLAN) at National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), Ranchi, is pleased to announce a Call for blogs for its flagship blog “The Policy Chronicle”. The platform is intended to serve as a forum for reflective and critical discourse on matters intersecting law, governance, and public policy.
The blog aims to engage with contemporary legal and policy developments, challenging existing frameworks, and proposing grounded, research-driven solutions to modern governance challenges. It is committed to encouraging analytical depth and accessibility in content, making it suitable for both academic readers and those without a formal background in law or policy.

The Blog invites submissions on themes including:

The themes are directional in nature, and authors are free to explore intersections between these themes and other relevant aspects of policy analysis.
Eligibility Guidelines
· Submissions are open to Law students, academicians, researchers, and professionals from all fields of Law.
· Co-authorship is permitted for up to two authors
Submission Guidelines
· The manuscripts shall be in the English language only.
· All submissions must be original and unpublished.
· Submissions shall be lucid, contemporarily relevant, and well researched. The submission must contain a novel analysis of the issue by the author(s). Analytical submissions with concrete suggestions over descriptive submissions with generic suggestions are encouraged.
· Authors must attach a short bio not exceeding 100 words. However, such bio or any other information which reveals the identity of the author in any manner must not be included in the main manuscript.
· Submissions must be made in .doc or .docx format only.
· The document must be named as “Title_CPLAN_TPC Blog”.
· The length of the submission must not ordinarily exceed 1200-2000 words. However, the limit may be relaxed at the discretion of the advisory board. Further, longer pieces may be published as two or three posts upon the request of the author, which has been approved by the editorial board.
· Authors are encouraged to include relevant images, infographics or flowcharts. Such content must be original or free from copyright restrictions.
· The blog must not be under consideration at any other place.
· Cross-publication of the blog is not permitted.
Formatting Guidelines
REFERENCING
· All references must be hyperlinked within the text itself.
· Where an online source is not available, endnotes may be used.
· Endnotes must follow the Bluebook 21st Edition.
· No speaking notes are allowed.
FORMATTING
· Font: Garamond
· Font Size: 12 (main text), 10 (endnotes)
· Line Spacing: 1.5 (main text), 1.0 (endnotes)
· Alignment: Justified
· Use double quotes and italics when quoting verbatim.
· Italicise the names of statutes, case laws and other legal documents.
· The title and sub-heading 1 must be left-aligned, bold, small caps and in Capitalise each word case.
· The sub-heading 2 must be left-aligned, italicised and in sentence case.
Ethical Guidelines
· The blog uses Turnitin software for the detection of Similarity and Generative-AI writing.
· Any form of plagiarism is prohibited, and every source being relied upon must be cited.
· The blog follows the University Grants Commission (Promotion of Academic Integrity and Prevention of Plagiarism in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulations, 2018 and therefore, similarity must be 10 per cent or below.
· AI-writing, to the extent of 20 per cent, is permitted.
Submission Procedure
· All submissions must be made through Google Forms.
· Submission shall not be accepted through email or any other medium.
· The blog accepts submissions on a rolling basis. However, no submission under the present call for blogs shall be accepted after 30 September 2026, 11:59 PM.
Withdrawl Procedure
· Submissions can be withdrawn through a withdrawal request addressed to the Editorial Board within 1 week of the submission. After such a period, the request must be accompanied by a valid reason and is subject to the editorial board's discretion.
· The withdrawal request must be communicated to the email cplan@nusrlranchi.ac.in with the Subject stating “Request for Withdrawal- Title of the Manuscript”.
· No request for withdrawal shall be considered after acceptance of the manuscript.
Publication Policy
· Simultaneous submissions are not permitted during the pendency of the review process. Authors may request an expedited review where the subject matter of the submission is time-sensitive. The grant of such a request shall be at the discretion of the Editorial Board.
· Upon acceptance for publication, copyright in the manuscript shall vest in The Policy Chronicle, published by the Centre for Policies, Laws and Agenda (CPLAN), National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi (NUSRL). Authors shall retain their moral rights.
· The Editorial Board reserves the right to edit, modify, proofread, format, and otherwise alter submissions for publication without seeking prior approval from the author(s).
· The decision of the Editorial Board regarding review, acceptance, rejection, editing, and publication shall be final.
