The 2nd Vidhi Vaarta Construction Arbitration Law Moot Court Competition, 2026 is a specialised moot court competition focusing on the intersection of construction, infrastructure, and arbitration law. The Competition is designed to simulate the complexities of commercial construction arbitration and requires participants to undertake intensive legal research, analyse intricate contractual and factual matrices, formulate cogent legal propositions, and present persuasive submissions before experienced adjudicators. The Moot Proposition addresses contemporary issues including additional works undertaken without a formal Variation Order, No Dues Certificates and final settlement, accord and satisfaction, economic duress, contractual authority, governmental procurement frameworks, internal financial regulations, quasi-contractual claims, and the constitution and jurisdiction of the Arbitral Tribunal under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996.

Registration Details:
Eligibility:
(A): Students duly enrolled in a bona fide three-year or five-year undergraduate law programme or postgraduate law programme offered by a BCI recognised college or university are eligible to participate.
(B): Each team shall comprise a minimum of two and a maximum of three members. In a three-member team, two members shall be designated as Speakers and one as Researcher; in a two-member team, both members shall be Speakers, with one Speaker additionally designated as Researcher.
Early-Bird Registration Fee: INR 3,000/- per team (till 30th September, 2026)
Final Registration Fee: INR 3,600/- per team (01.10.2026 – 10.10.2026)
Note: Registration will be considered complete upon submission of the Registration Form and payment of the prescribed registration fee. The registration fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.
Competition Structure:
The Competition shall be conducted over three days and comprise two Preliminary Rounds, followed by the Quarter-Final, Semi-Final and Final Rounds. Each team shall appear once as Claimant and Respondent in the Preliminary Rounds. The Top eight (8) teams, determined on the basis of their total scores in the two Preliminary Rounds, shall qualify for the Quarter-Final Round. The Quarter-Final and Semi-Final Rounds shall be conducted on a knock-out basis, with the four (4) teams qualifying from the Quarter-Final Round competing in the Semi-Final Round, and two (2) teams from the Semi-Final Round competing in the Final Round.
Memorials Submission:
Each participating team shall prepare Memorials for both sides, i.e., the Claimant, and the Respondent. Memorials shall be submitted in soft copy in PDF and DOCX formats by 28th October 2026. Each Memorial shall not exceed forty pages, with the Arguments Advanced section restricted to twenty pages. The Competition permits citation in either the Bluebook 21st Edition or OSCOLA 4th Edition format.

Winner: Rs. 11,000/- + Trophy + Certificate of Merit + Internship Opportunity with a reputed IT/ITES MNC, Delhi NCR.
Runner-up: Rs. 8,000/- + Trophy + Certificate of Merit + Internship Opportunity with Saxenas and Kumar Law Chambers LLP, Delhi NCR.
Best Mooter: Rs. 3,000/- + Trophy + Certificate of Merit + Opportunity for a Certificate Course to the tune of Rs. 700/-
Best Researcher: Rs. 3,000/- + Trophy + Certificate of Merit + Publication Opportunity in DJMR.
Best Memorandum: Rs. 3,000/- + Trophy + Certificate of Merit + Exciting kind prizes.
Note: All the Participants shall receive an E-Certificate of Participation within 15 days from successful culmination of the competition.
