The KIIT Legal Services Clinic (KLSC), KIIT School of Law, KIIT-DU, Bhubaneswar, has announced  the first edition of KIIT Inter-University Client Counselling Competition, 2026 (KIUCCC, 2026).

The inaugural KIUCCC aims to bridge the gap between theoretical legal education and professional practice through simulated client-counsel interactions. It seeks to develop essential skills including active listening, effective communication, legal analysis, ethical decision-making and problem-solving in budding lawyers.

The Problem Statements will be based on the following areas:
Law of Contracts; Sale of Goods Act, 1930; Constitutional Law; Criminal Laws; Consumer Protection Act, 2019; Family Laws; Law of Torts; Insurance Law; Dowry Prohibition Law; Motor Vehicles Act, 1988; Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881; and Information Technology Act, 2000.

Mode: Hybrid

Dates: 19th September 2026 (Online Rounds) & 27th September 2026 (Offline Rounds)

Eligibility:
Students of 5-Year Integrated LL.B. programmes and 3-Year LL.B. programmes (all Years) enrolled in BCI-recognised Law Schools or Faculties of Law.

Composition and Slots:

l 2 members (acting as Counsels) per team; the Client will be provided by the OC.

l A maximum of 2 teams are allowed to participate from one institution.

l A maximum of 32 slots will be allotted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Registration Fee:

l ₹2,000/- per team for online rounds.

l Additional ₹2,500/- for teams qualifying for offline rounds.

Deadline: Registration closes on 15th September 2026.

Prizes:

l Winner: ₹25,000 + Trophy + Certificates

l Runner-Up: ₹15,000 + Trophy + Certificates

l Best Counsel: ₹10,000 + Trophy + Certificate

l Best Client: ₹10,000 + Trophy + Certificate
