LexFinis Foundation Announces 'Right to Writ – In Public Interest 2026' Competition

Every law student reads about Article 32, Article 226/Article 227 and hardly any of them have drafted a writ petition that could actually be filed before they leave college. Right to Writ changes that. It is not a moot and not a simulation. Each participant picks a live issue of public importance, is trained on writ drafting by practising advocates including Advocates on Record of the Supreme Court of India, and then drafts an actual petition on that issue with responsible use of AI tools from Lejit.ai. The winning petitions will get a chance to appear as Party in Person before the concerned High Court or the Supreme Court of India through LexFinis Foundation. Every entrant receives a Certificate of Participation in association with MEPSC, under the Skill India Mission.

NITI Aayog records that only 8.25 per cent of graduates work in roles aligned to their qualification (Reimagining Skilling for Viksit Bharat@2047, August 2026). The same deficit runs through legal education. Right to Writ is a direct answer to it: a law student learns, before leaving college, how a petition is actually drafted, filed and presented in Court.
