DNLU Jabalpur Hosts NYAYANAMA 2025: A Two-Day National Constituent Assembly Simulation
The two-day Constituent Assembly Simulation, NYAYANAMA, organized by the Centre for Constitutional Law at Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur, brought together participants from across the country for an intensive exercise in debating, lobbying, and constitution-drafting.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Alexander Fischer (Law Faculty, Shiv Nadar University, Chennai), Dr. Praveen Tripathi (Registrar, DNLU), Dr. Ashit Kumar Srivastava (Law Faculty, DNLU), Dr. Amit Kumar Mishra (Political Science Faculty, DNLU), Mr. Utkarsh Kumar Mishra (Law Faculty, DNLU), and Dr. Arpan Shukla (Law Faculty, RDVV, Jabalpur).
The esteemed judging panel comprised Dr. Manwendra Tiwari (Law Faculty, DNLU), Mr. Gopesh Yash Tiwari (Advocate, MP High Court), and Mr. Ashay Maske, who evaluated participants on constitutional reasoning and articulation.
A total of 21 participants advanced to the final on-campus round after the preliminary stages. Over four competitive rounds—Introductory Speech, Fundamental Rights, Structure of Governance, and Citizenship—participants presented party positions, debated thematic issues, and sought support for their constitutional proposals, stepping into the role of constituent assembly members. Following deliberations and voting, the drafting committee consolidated the proposals, and a final Constitution for the fictional nation Vyndar was officially formulated and presented to Prof. (Dr.) Fischer as a memoir of the simulation.
At the Valedictory Ceremony, Nyaya Ratna (Best Delegate) was awarded to Sujal Sharma (Kurukshetra University, Haryana); Samvidhan Shiromani (Distinguished Delegate) was awarded to Divyanshi Bajpai (CNLU, Patna); and Rajya Vidhyarthi (Honourable Mention) went to Shridhar Tiwari (DNLU, Jabalpur). Special Mentions were awarded to Anushka Mahawar (Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University, Ajmer) and Ruchi Kharb (DNLU, Jabalpur) for their notable performance.
The event successfully provided students with a rare opportunity to understand the complexities of constitution-making through debate, deliberation, and collaborative drafting. The Centre for Constitutional Law extends its gratitude to all participating teams, judges, partners, faculty members, student coordinators, and support staff for contributing to the success of NYAYANAMA 2025.
