Clinical Legal Education Centre, HPNLU Shimla, under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena, Vice-Chancellor, conducted a focused workshop titled “Charge sheet under the BNSS, 2023: Practice & Procedure” on 27 November 2025. The session was an integral component of the HPNLU Trial Advocacy Competition 2025 and aimed to equip students with practical, procedural, and field-based insights into the criminal justice system.

The workshop was graced by Advocate Kapil Mohan Gautam, District Attorney, Shimla, who served as the subject expert for the session. His detailed deliberations on the structure, preparation, and legal significance of a charge sheet under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, provided participants with valuable insight into real-world prosecutorial processes. He further engaged with the students on emerging procedural standards and the evolving investigation-to-trial framework under the new criminal law regime.
The event reaffirmed HPNLU Shimla's commitment to fostering experiential learning and strengthening students' advocacy skills through interactive academic–professional collaborations. The event was organized by Prof (Dr.) Girjesh Shukla, Chairperson, Clinical Legal Education Centre
