Mahindra University, HNLU Sign MoU To Promote Legal Education & Interdisciplinary Research

Mahindra University and Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote academic collaboration, interdisciplinary research, and institutional partnership in legal education and allied disciplines.

The MoU was signed by HNLU Vice Chancellor Prof. Vivekanandan and Mahindra University Vice Chancellor Prof. Yajulu Medury during the inaugural ceremony of the International Arbitration Confluence jointly organised by the School of Law, Mahindra University and HNLU from May 1 to May 3, 2026.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. V.C. Vivekanandan said the collaboration would encourage academic initiatives not only with the School of Law at Mahindra University but also across its various disciplines, particularly in emerging domains involving the interface of law and technology.

He noted that Mahindra University had achieved significant academic and professional growth within a short span since its establishment.

Mahindra University Vice Chancellor Prof. Yaj Medury said the partnership with HNLU, one of the leading National Law Universities in the country, would create opportunities for interdisciplinary research, academic networking, and institutional collaboration.

He added that the collaboration would include joint academic conferences and faculty exchange programmes between the two institutions.

According to the institutions, the partnership aims to create a collaborative ecosystem for research, learning, and academic innovation.

Under the MoU, the institutions will work towards:

  • promoting interdisciplinary research in law, technology, governance, and public policy;
  • enabling joint supervision and mentoring of PhD scholars and researchers;
  • facilitating faculty and student exchange programmes;
  • organising conferences, seminars, workshops, and training programmes; and
  • exploring national and international research and funding opportunities.

The institutions stated that the collaboration is expected to benefit students, researchers, and faculty members while contributing to the development of interdisciplinary legal education in India.
