NFSU and RGNUL to set up Digital Forensics Laboratory

National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), Gandhinagar and RGNUL, Punjab will collaboratively be setting up Digital Forensics Laboratory as a part of NFSU – RGNUL Advanced Center for Research in Forensic Justice. Prof. G.S. Bajpai, Vice-Chancellor, RGNUL, said, "Digital Forensic Laboratory in the premises of RGNUL is first of its kind to be set up in National Law University. NFSU will fund the estsblishment of the laboratory and be knowledge partner for providing the Standard Operating Procedures for organising academic and research activities." Prof. J.M. Vyas, VC, NFSU and Prof G.S. Bajpai, VC, RGNUL, Punjab signed an Agreement to this effect. Prof. Bajpai discussed about bilateral cooperation in the various subjects of mutual interest. He emphasized on the applications of Forensics in the field of Law, need to improve the capacity building of the law enforcement agencies in dealing with digital forensic aspects and also spoke about the emerging issues in Forensics. Prof (Dr.) Naresh Vats, Registrar, RGNUL and Prof (Dr.) Rakesh Sharma, Advisor (Forensics), RGNUL were also present during the virtual signing of the Agreement.

Notably, the Advanced Center for Research in Forensic Justice, joint venture of NFSU and RGNUL, will be dedicated to development of forensic science. It will strengthen connection between forensic discovery and the process by providing online/offline certificate and diploma programs in the fields of law, criminology and forensic science in conjunction with behavioural science studies through blend mode of learning.
