NLU Jodhpur And Rajiv K. Luthra Foundation Sign MoU to Establish Rajiv K. Luthra–NLUJ Accessibility Lab
In a significant step toward strengthening disability inclusion and accessible legal education, the Rajiv K. Luthra Foundation and National Law University, Jodhpur (NLUJ), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to set up the Rajiv K. Luthra–NLUJ Accessibility Lab on the university campus.
The state-of-the-art facility is designed to support students with visual, auditory, locomotor, learning, and other disabilities through both academic and infrastructural assistance. The Lab will focus on enhancing access to learning resources through assistive technologies while also fostering research and policy initiatives in the fields of disability rights and accessibility.
Named in honour of the late Rajiv K. Luthra, one of India's most eminent corporate lawyers and a strong advocate for equal opportunity, the Lab will function as a multi-functional accessibility hub equipped with assistive devices, accessible digital repositories, and specialised training modules for persons with disabilities.
As part of the collaboration, two students with disabilities from NLUJ will receive annual internship opportunities at Luthra and Luthra Law Offices, one of India's leading law firms. The initiative aims to ensure meaningful professional exposure and promote stronger representation of persons with disabilities within the legal profession.
The Rajiv K. Luthra–NLUJ Accessibility Lab, among the first institutionalised accessibility facilities of such scale and vision in India's higher education ecosystem, is expected to become fully operational by February 2026.
