Project 39A Hosts Seminar On Disclosure And Fair Trial; Signs MoUs With IPF And UPSIFS
Project 39A, National Law University Delhi, in collaboration with the Indian Police Foundation (IPF), hosted a seminar on “Disclosure and the Right to Fair Trial: An Expert Dialogue” on September 5, 2026, at National Law University Delhi.
The seminar brought together defence counsel, police officials, prosecutors, judges, forensic experts, and academicians for a discussion on the disclosure of evidence and its relationship with the constitutional right to a fair trial. The discussions examined existing gaps in the system and explored possible avenues for reform.
On the occasion, Project 39A entered into Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the Indian Police Foundation (IPF) and the Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Science (UPSIFS), aimed at strengthening collaboration in research, capacity-building, professional training, and policy engagement in the fields of law, policing, and forensic science.
The MoUs were signed by Sanjay Vashishtha, Executive Director, Project 39A; O.P. Singh, President and CEO, Indian Police Foundation; and G.K. Goswami, Founder Director, UPSIFS, in the presence of Pupul Dutta Prasad, Honorary Director, Project 39A and Inspector General, BPR&D; D.C. Jain, COO, Indian Police Foundation and former Special Director, CBI; and S.P. Singh, Treasurer, Indian Police Foundation.
According to the organisers, the collaborations will facilitate joint research and publications, certificate programmes, specialised training courses, and academic exchange initiatives, bringing together expertise across law, policing, and forensic science.
