Yogi Adityanath Visits RPNLU, Reviews Campus Development Plans

Dr. Rajendra Prasad National Law University, Prayagraj (RPNLU), hosted the Chairperson of its General Council and Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, on 10 January 2026. The visit took place at a time when the University is in the process of developing its permanent campus.

During the visit, the Chief Minister inspected the ongoing construction work of the University's permanent campus at Jhalwa and interacted with members of the General Council, faculty members, and students.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath referred to Prayagraj's historical association with education and learning, from ancient Gurukul traditions to modern academic institutions. He stated that RPNLU reflects an effort to integrate traditional knowledge systems with contemporary legal education.

Emphasising the importance of the rule of law in a democratic system, the Chief Minister noted the University's proximity to the Allahabad High Court and underscored its responsibility in promoting constitutional values. He stated that institutions such as RPNLU play a role in training legal professionals committed to justice, accountability, and ethical conduct.

As Chairperson of the General Council, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath discussed the future roadmap of the University and advised that its development should be planned in a structured and time-bound manner, with focus on infrastructure, governance, and academic standards. He also expressed hope that the upcoming academic session beginning in August would commence from the new campus.

The programme began with a welcome address by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Usha Tandon, who thanked the Chief Minister for his guidance and support to the University. She stated that the University was progressing steadily towards completion of its permanent campus.

The visit concluded with discussions on the University's future plans and ongoing development.
