AMMA Row: Hill Palace Police Registers FIR Against Lakshmipriya and Two Others on Actor Ansiba Hassan's Complaint

The Hill Palace Police in Ernakulam District has registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) Vice President Lakshmipriya and two others including a woman sub inspector, on a complaint filed by Drishyam-actress Ansiba Hassan as directed by Judicial First Class Magistrate Court. 

According to the FIR, Ansiba Hassan was summoned to the Tripunithura women's cell on 30 January, 2026, following a petition filed by Lakshmipriya alleging that a whatsapp message sent by Hassan has affected her family life. 

It is stated that Hassan was made to wait for 30 minutes at the station before being interrogated for nearly an hour about the complaint. It is further alleged that the woman sub inspector threatened Ms. Hassan with a criminal case.   

It is alleged that Lakshmipriya, who came to the Police Stateion has questioned Ms. Hassan and reportedly called her husband, who is arrayed as the second accused in the FIR and insisted Ms. Hassan apologise to him. 

The FIR also states that Hassan was compelled to sign a document stating that the issue had been amicably settled with the other two. FIR states that, later, the accused allegedly prepared and used documents against Ms. Hassan's interests, seriously tarnishing the reputation of the actor, who is also a popular artiste in the Tamil film industry. 

The FIR is filed under provision of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita which include Sections 127(2) (wrongful confinement), 198 (public servant disobeying law with intent to cause injury), 199(a) (knowingly disobeying directions of law), 201 (public servant framing an incorrect document with intent to cause injury), 217(b) (false information with intent to cause a public servant to misuse lawful power to the injury of another person), 336 (forgery), 351 (criminal intimidation), and 61 (criminal conspiracy); along with Section 116(b) of the Kerala Police Act (illegal seizure, detention, search, or arrest causing annoyance without reasonable cause).

Notable, last week a the Judicial First Class Magistrate VIII, Ernakulam directed the Kadavanthra police station to register FIR based on complaint by Ms. Hassan alleging Tini Tom of abusing her with words like 'Jihadi', etc.
