The High Court of Delhi has issued a circular requesting Advocates, general public and litigants to avoid unnecessary overcrowding in court premises in light of the Coronavirus outbreak.
The circular refers to the advisory issued by the Government of NCT of Delhi as per which guidelines have been outlined in order to prevent the spread of the contagious virus.
The circular reads,
"As per the recent advisory issued by the Govt. of NCT of Delhi, Coronavirus (2019-nCOV) is a contagious virus which causes respiratory infection and can be transferred from human to human through air by coughing, sneezing, personal contact such as touching, shaking hand, touching an object or surface with the virus on it and then touching mouth, nose or eyes with unwashed hands."
Directions have been given to display the circular on the Notice Board of the Delhi High Court Bar Association as well to upload it on the website of the High Court and all District Courts. It is also to be circulated to all District and Sessions Judges.
The total number of positive Coronavirus cases has climbed to 43, with majority of them stemming from Kerala, Delhi, UP and Jammu.
