The Delhi High Court on Wednesday issued notice in a plea seeking removal of Mr. Zakir Khan from the post of Chairman of the Delhi Minorites Commission alleging that he misused his powers and position to influence others and acted as an agent of Aam Aadmi Party.

A division bench comprising of Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice Jyoti Singh issued notice to the Delhi Government, Delhi Minorites Commission and Zakir Khan accordingly.

The plea filed by one Abdul Amir Amiro, a local resident of Jama Masjid area, states that Khan has been continuously abusing his position in disregard to the Delhi Minorites Commission Rules, 2000 and is allegedly found to be in association with the AAP by holding meetings, being an active member by taking part in the party rallies, announcing its policies and "propagating it's agenda."

Reliance has been made on Khan's Facebook profile wherein he has stated to have been uploaded pictures from his official account on various occasion showing his association with the AAM aadmi Party.

"That the respondent no.3 has knowingly misused his position and powers and government money in order to influence other and promoting the political party to achieve his political gains." The plea reads. 

Furthermore, the plea also states that Khan has knowingly misused his position by "joining, associated and demonstrated violated the Service which is prejudicial to the interest of the sovereignty and integrity of India, public order and morality."

Apart from seeking his removal, the plea additionally prays that the Delhi Government and Delhi Minorites Commission should withdraw all the facilities and also to stop his pay or remuneration.

Praying for directions on the said respondents for taking appropriate legal action against Khan, the plea aslo seeks refund of the entire pay received by Khan since the day of joining.
