The Madhya Pradesh Bar Association of Indore has kick-started a 'first-of-a-kind' mentorship programme for young women members and interns of the bar.

The programme aims to provide guidance, career insights, and professional support to young women in the profession.

The pilot project commenced on Friday (July 17) with over 80 participants under the guidance of Treasurer Kirti Patwardhan and Executive Members Sonali Shukla and Agreema Sanghai.

The event is expected to have different sessions, each with a 10-minute interactive session led by successful female advocates, judges or entrepreneurs who would share their struggles and achievements,

In the session, the First female Additional Advocate General, Mrs Archana Kher, shared her experience with the mentees and spoke extensively about how the glass ceiling could be broken and how to achieve work-life balance, especially being a married woman.

The event started with an interactive ice-breaking session, where participants shared the hurdles they face, including gender bias, lack of knowledge about building a network, especially as a first-generation lawyer, and career prospects as a married woman, etc.

The next session is scheduled to address problems regarding research and how to use the databases. The session would also include drafting skills.
