The Patna High Court held a Full Court reference on May 5 via video conferencing to condole the demise of Justices Anand Prasad Sinha, Prakash Chandra Verma and Ajay Kumar Tripathi.

The reference was presided over by Chief Justice Sanjay Karol. The judges joined the video conferencing from their respective residential offices.

The business of the court was suspended for the rest of the day, after the Full Court reference, as a mark of respect for the departed souls.

Justice Ajay Kumar Tripathi was a judicial member of the Lokpal, who succumbed to COVID-19 on May 2 at Delhi.  He started practice in 1981 at the Patna High Court and was elevated as an Additional Judge of the Patna HC on 9th October, 2006. He became the Chief Justice of the Chhattisgarh High Court on 7 July, 2018. He was appointed as one of the judicial members of Lokpal in March 2019.

Justice Anand Prasad Sinha served the Patna HC from 18.11.1982 to 10.09.1986.

Justice Prakash Chandra Verma, originally hailing from Allahabad HC, was transferred to Patna HC in 2011.
