The High Court of Kerala on Monday sought the response of Bar Council of Kerala on a writ petition seeking enrollment ceremony for new advocates to be held via video-conferencing amid the lockdown.

"Desperate times call for desperate measures", submitted Advocate S Sujin, appearing for the petitioner Hari Krishnan.

The petitioner submitted that the enrollment has been postponed many times due to the lockdown, and "innovative, alternative measures" should be taken so as to enable new members to join the profession at the earliest.

A bench of Justice Anu Sivaraman has posted the case next week for the standing counsel to get instructions from the BCK on the matter.
