NUJS Law Review Welcomes Legal Scholars to Use and Comment on Citation Standard

Update: 2017-07-03 15:09 GMT
The NUJS Law Review has recently released the First Edition of their Citation Standard, available here.  The citation standard was created as a result of the vision set out by the NUJS Law Review, to provide a forum for discussing legal issues both national and international, where authors and readers can express ideas of historical and contemporary relevance. In particular, the citation standard aims to address a number of issues with current legal citation standards.

The Board of Editors noted that the usage of the Bluebook for legal citation for Indian sources and international sources, tended to be cumbersome in its application. Very few citation standards, barring a few exceptions like the SILC (Standard Indian Legal Citation), have made actual attempts to provide a uniform standard to cite sources whilst particularly addressing the needs of the Indian legal framework.

The NUJS Law Review Citation Standard aims to address these issues, by providing simple and uniform guidelines for a wide variety of citations used everyday by legal scholars. The citation standard was an ongoing project of the Law Review. Initially only addressing a few of the most used citation standards, the First Edition of the NUJS Law Review Citation Standard has now culminated into its present form, owing to the efforts of the editorial boards over the years.

The NUJS Law Review welcomes legal scholars to use the citation standard for any legal citations for their academic pieces. They also welcome comments for the improvement of the citation standard and expansion of citation sources.
