Appeal Against Refusal To Shift Sonam Wangchuk To Private Hospital : Live Updates From Delhi High Court Hearing

Court: We request in charge director AIIMS and Dr. Akshay, in charge of emergency medicines AIIMS to be present tomorrow. Doctor whom appellant has been consulted shall also be present. It is directed thay respondent 4 while filing affidavit shall also bring on record all health bulletins issued in respect of health condition of appellant’s husband.

Court: Having heard the learned counsels, we direct that all pathological reports of Wangchuk based on samples analysed at lab of safdarjung hospital, aiims and private lab, shall be filed on affidavit sworn in by director of safdarjung hospital. The appellant shall file path reports based on analysis of blood and urine samples of her husband conducted at some private lab.

Tomorrow supposed someone known is admitted in private hospital and he needs intervention of govt doctor. Will it be permitted? : Court

Court To SG: We are asking only to ensure that doctor in charge of team may be here tomorrow to assist us. And doctor whom they are consulting also be here.

Sibal: Whatever can be limited objection to be shifted to medanta?

That goes against basic medical protocol followed. No hospital permits medical intervention from outsider: Court

ASG: Director, Safdarjung hospital.

Mehta: May i suggest, let petitoner’s apprehension be taken care of. May i suggest incharge director of aiims supervise the team.

Court: Please compile all these reports. You are taking samples twice?

Court to doctor: Petitioner has been granted access, his brother too. You take samples in their presence. Their apprehension, they may not have any basis for that but if it occurred to their mind, courts concern is to save his life first. Not any other thing. Therefore whatever samples you have analysed, please compile report. File on affidavit.

Mehta: I am told your lordships had to leave. If Justice Karia have to leave i can continue at 10:30 AM tomorrow. He is under medical supervision. Aiims doctor is permanently stationed.
