Mehta: The impugned order turns criminal law on its head. The judge while deciding question of discharge says there is no collaborative material. There is enough collaborative material which cannot be brushed away. Discharge stage is not where you have to see collaborative material. This is an order of acquittal without trial.
Mehta: There are 164 witnesses which discuss how the conspiracy was hatched, where meetings held, how bribe was paid, to whom it was paid. There is one person, Vijay Nair, two political leaders are directly in touch with him.
Mehta: CBI could trace the money laundering. In a matter of this nature there is possibility that a party can allege vendetta etc. All witnesses were examined before magistrate.
Mehta: The basic charge is there was a policy, manipulated policy created which resulted into position to facilitate some traders.
