According to a circular issued by the Supreme Court's Administrative General Branch on Wednesday, the Full Court has declared September 11 a holiday for both the Supreme Court and its Registry. The circular also states that September 12 (Saturday) will be a holiday for the Registry.
The decision follows an Office Memorandum dated September 3, 2026, issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoP&T) under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, which directed that the Central Government offices in Delhi should be shut in view of the 18th BRICS Leaders' Summit.
As a compensatory working day, November 28, 2026 (Saturday) has been declared a full working day for the Supreme Court.
