The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed a plea seeking directions to the Union Government to stop the proposed caste census, link redistribution of resources to population responsibility, and frame policies to provide economic incentives to families with a single child.

A Bench comprising Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, Justice Joymalya Bagchi and Justice Vipul Pancholi refused to entertain the petition filed by the petitioner appearing in person.

During the hearing, the Court expressed strong disapproval over the language used in the petition.

Addressing the petitioner, Chief Justice Surya Kant remarked:

"Where do you learn the language used in this petition? Ye badtameezi ki language kahan se lekar aate hain aap log? Kaise likhte hain aap log petition?(Where do you people get this kind of rude language from? How do you people write petitions like this?)"

The Court thereafter dismissed the petition.
