Raju: reading statement of protected witness- On 13.12.2019, at about 07.30 p.m., Umar Khalid, Sharjeel Imam, Saiful Islam and Asif Tanha, came to Jamia University Campus. I was present there. Umar Khalid said in front of all protestors that Sharjeel, Saiful and Asif are his brothers and members of his team. He also said that I have explained the difference between chakka jam and dharna to Sharjeel, Saiful and Asif. Umar told Sharjeel to start “Chakka jam” at Shaheen Bagh, 24x7. He also told remaining Saiful and Asif to start chakka jam at gate No.7, Jamia University. Umar Khalid also said that at right time, they will also start chakka jam in other Muslim areas of Delhi. Umar Khalid also said to the protesters that the Govt. is as Hindu Govt. and against Muslims and we have to overthrow the Govt. and will do so at right time

Raju: Due to the serious nature and gravity of the offence, as many as 47 witnesses have been granted protected status, out of which 38 have recorded their statements under Section 164 Cr.P.C., while the remaining have given their respective statements under Section 161 Cr.P.C.

Raju: 47. It is submitted that the primary contention of the accused has been to highlight the fact that there are as many as 900 witnesses. However, a perusal of the list of witnesses would demonstrate that there are approximately 155 public witnesses; out of which 58 witnesses have on oath given their respective statements before the Ld. Magistrate under Section 164 CrPC.

Raju: Sharjeel's speech was at Jamia, Aligarh. Umar khalid was not supposed to give speech, that was why he was permitted to be a part and despite that, he flouted the permission and gave speech in Amratavi. It was organised by his father. Permission was given that umar khalid will not give speech. Speech was on same line-babri, triple talaq, 370, NRC.

Raju: DPSG through JCC also formed Jamia Awareness Campaign Team (JACT) for mass mobilization for creating protest sites. This Jamia Awareness Team visited Muslim dominated areas of Delhi including North-East Delhi area and instigated them to create sit-in 24X7 protest.

These are groups which were formed. Entire focus was to create such types of protest so that there is a regime change.
