The Central government has notified the appointment of new Judges at the High Courts of Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

Advocate Ashish Shroti has been elevated as a Judge of the MP High Court.

The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended his elevation back in October 2023. Two of three other Advocates whose names were recommended along with Shroti were elevated to the bench in November 2023. The fourth name on the list, i.e. Advocate Amit Seth is yet to be cleared.

Advocate Alok Mahra has been elevated as a Judge of the Uttarakhand High Court.

Mahra's elevation was also pending since October 2023. The other name from the Collegium's list (Adv. Siddhartha Sah) is still pending approval.
