A regular hearing in a civil suit before the court room number 54 of the Bombay High Court turned shocking when a litigant tried to throw her purse towards the judge, after an order was passed against her.

The female litigant, however restrained herself immediately.

Noticing the move, Justice Madhav Jamdar, who was hearing the matter, immediately summoned the High Court Police staff and got the woman removed from the jam-packed court hall.

"What kind of conduct was this? Do the litigants think they can do anything they wish to, with the court? Just because some order is passed against you doesn't mean you will behave in such a manner... you need to maintain the decorum of the court...Let a strong message be sent to the litigants... This court will never pass any order in fear or favour..." Justice Jamdar orally remarked.

The woman identified as Minder Gurmeet Singh Thukral, a resident of suburban Andheri, was present in the courtroom with her family members. She immediately furnished a written apology and was removed from the courthall subsequently.

The judge, however, unimpressed with the said apology said that he will impose a hefty cost on the litigant and made it clear that Contempt of Court proceedings would be initiated against her.

"It is also required to be noted that Minder Gurmit Singh Thukral in the Court has behaved in a wholly inappropriate manner, which also amounts to contempt of Court. For hearing this Contempt Petition with respect to the conduct of all the Respondents, stand over to October 30," the bench recorded in the order.

Further the judge orally remarked that he would send the litigant to jail for behaving in a very inappropriate manner in the court.

Accordingly the matter was adjourned to October 30.
