In the hearing, the counsel for the State submitted that certain measures were taken by the Corporation with regard to the issue of cattle and stray dogs. It was submitted that the Corporation regularly engages in the removal of stray cattle from the city.

The counsel for the intervenors, however, argued 'the whole city is facing a menace because of the stray dogs and a number of dog biting cases are reported'.

Considering the aforesaid arguments, the court directed the Municipal Corporation to comply with the directions of the Supreme Court in the suo motu petition (supra).
