Ramaiah College of Law commemorated a key milestone in its three-decade legacy of legal education by inaugurating the premier edition of the Ramaiah International Moot and Arbitration Conference, 2026 (RIMAC) on 15th November 2025 at the Four Seasons Hotel, Bengaluru. This flagship initiative embodies the institution's pursuit of academic excellence and its engagement with contemporary international dispute-resolution practice. The competition is scheduled to take place from the 13-15 March 2026, promising participants an immersive experience in international arbitration.

The inaugural ceremony was honoured by the presence of leading members of the legal fraternity, whose participation lent distinction to the event. The College is proud to collaborate with esteemed partners such as AZB & Partners, CMS IndusLaw, the International Arbitration and Mediation Centre, Jurisphere. 



Unveiling of the Moot Proposition

On 27 November 2025, Justice B.M. Shyam Prasad, Additional Judge, High Court of Karnataka, officially released the Moot Proposition for the inaugural edition of the Ramaiah International Arbitration Moot Competition, accompanied by the Official Rules and competition timelines. Justice Shyam Prasad extended his best wishes for the successful conduct of the competition and commended the institution's efforts in advancing academic rigour on an international scale.


Ramaiah College of Law is inviting participation from select teams, as the competition will be conducted on an invite-only basis. Participants can look forward to an engaging and enriching experience that reflects the global standards of arbitration practice.

The Ramaiah International Arbitration Moot Competition will comprise two stages:

1. Stage 1 – Memorial Evaluation Round

2. Stage 2 – Oral Pleading Rounds

The Top 16 Teams from Stage 1 will qualify for the Oral Pleading Rounds.

Eligibility

Any student pursuing an undergraduate LL.B. degree programme or its equivalent conducted by any recognised Institution/College/University in India is eligible to participate. Each Institution/ College/ University may nominate only one team for the competition. A team shall consist of two to three members, all of whom must be enrolled at the same law school as full-time or part-time students as of the registration deadline. Students pursuing a bar-qualifying course or a first postgraduate degree in law shall also be eligible. No team member shall have been admitted to practice as an advocate, solicitor, barrister, attorney, or equivalent in any jurisdiction. The names of all team members must be submitted at the time of registration, and a team number will be allotted upon receipt of the registration fee.

Team Composition

Each Team shall comprise of minimum 2 (two) and maximum 3 (three) members. In case of a three-member team, two members of the Team shall be designated as Orators and the third member shall be designated as the Researcher. In case of a two-member team, both members shall be designated as Orators.

Registration Procedure

Teams must complete registration by submitting the Registration Form available at the end of this announcement and by paying the fee for Stage 1 – Memorial Evaluation Round: Indian Teams: ₹ 2,500, Overseas Teams: USD 50.

The last date for registration is 15 December 2025 (11:59 PM IST).

Prizes

1. Winning Team: INR 1,00,000

2. First Runner-Up: INR 75,000

3. Best Mooter: INR 50,000

4. Best Memorial: INR 50,000

The Best Memorial Award will be based on the combined score of both the Claimant and Respondent memorials. In addition to the awards, the awardees will also become eligible for exclusive internship opportunities with our official partners, subject to their selection process and discretion.
