The Xavier Law School is organizing the second edition of the National Moot Court Competition from 16th to 18th February 2024 on the contemporary aspects of corporate law.

Xavier University was established on July 6, 2013 and was renamed as XIM University on 3rd April, 2021. Xavier Law School, recognized by the Bar Council of India is a modern marvel in terms of infrastructure, physical, digital & intellectual assets thus positioning itself as a premier new-generation law school providing holistic legal education.

The moot problem for this year aims to assess participants' understanding, research skills, and practical application of law within the realm of corporate law. The competition covers a broad spectrum of legal areas in corporate laws, allowing students to develop a holistic understanding of how competition law, data privacy and the allied aspects intersect and impact each other in real-world scenarios. It delves into the conjunction on the evolution of jurisprudence on significant developments in Competition and Data Privacy laws to arm the next generation of lawyers with research and oratory abilities.

Details of the Moot Court Competition:

  • Date of Competition: 16th – 18th February 2024
  • Mode of Conduct: Physically on Campus
  • Venue: Xavier Law School, XIM University, Plot No: 12(A), Nijigada, Kurki, Harirajpur-752050, District-Puri, Odisha, India.

Eligibility:

  • All students duly enrolled and pursuing a full-time 3-year LL.B. program or a 5-year integrated LL.B. program from the Institution/University recognized by the Bar Council of India or equally competent authority shall be eligible to participate in the competition.
  • Only one team from a particular college can register for participation.

Team Composition:

Each team shall comprise a maximum number of three members (two speakers and one researcher) or a minimum number of two members (one speaker and one speaker-cum-researcher).

Awards:

  • Winner Cash Prize of INR 50,000/- (Fifty Thousand Only)
  • Runner's Up Cash Prize of INR 30,000/- (Thirty Thousand Only)
  • Best Memorial Cash Prize of INR 10,000/- (Ten Thousand Only)
  • Best Researcher Cash Prize of INR 5,000/- (Five Thousand Only)
  • Best Mooter Cash Prize of INR 5,000/- (Five Thousand Only)

Registration Process:

  • Interested teams are required to register for the Competition by completing the Registration Form. Registration shall not be accepted through any means other than the Registration Form.
  • Prior payment of INR 4,000/- (Four Thousand Only) per team as a Registration Fee is required to fill out the Registration Form. The registration fee shall be inclusive of accommodation and food.
  • Every team must submit a payment of INR 4,000 (Four Thousand Rupees only) through Bank Transfer by January 15, 2024 (11:59 P.M. IST) to complete their registration for the Competition.

Last Date of Registration: 15th January, 2024

Registration Fee: Rs. 4000/- per team inclusive of accommodation and food.

Mode of Registration: Prior payment through NEFT/RTGS/ Net-Banking (Account details are provide in the Brochure) and filing the registration form thereon.
