The Kautilya Society of National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), Ranchi, has been conferred the “Best Society of the Year” award at the Kautilya Society Conclave held at the India International Centre, New Delhi.

The two-day conclave, conducted on April 4 and 5, brought together representatives from Kautilya Societies across National Law Universities, providing a platform for dialogue on issues at the intersection of law, governance, and public policy.

Representing NUSRL, Founding Convenor Gaurav Kumar Mandal and Convenor Shafaque Fatima participated in expert-led sessions and institutional presentations highlighting the annual work undertaken by participating societies. The recognition of NUSRL reflects the consistency of its student-led initiatives and its engagement with contemporary policy challenges. The society's work has contributed to fostering academic discourse and public policy engagement within the university ecosystem.

The initiative has been supported by institutional mentorship, including guidance from Vice-Chancellor Ashok R. Patil and Faculty Convenor Dr. Utkarsh Verma, along with contributions from the society's leadership and members.

The organisers also acknowledged the role of Mahvish Kazmi, Programme Manager at Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy, for her mentorship in supporting student-led policy initiatives.

The recognition highlights NUSRL's continued focus on public policy education and interdisciplinary engagement within legal studies.
