Police Registers Case After Another Incident Of Verbal Abuse Against Kerala High Court Judge

A crime has been registered by the Aluva Police on August 2 (Sunday) against two scooter passengers, who allegedly hurled verbal abuse at Kerala High Court judge Justice P.M. Manoj.

According to the FIR, the incident happened on August 2 around between 7:50. p.m. to 8:05 p.m. while the judge was travelling in his official vehicle along with his family.

It is stated that the official car was obstructed by the two passengers travelling in an Ola electric scooter and, verbal abuses were made without any provocation.

The crime was registered after the judge's PSO (Personal Security Officer) gave a WhatsApp complaint to the official number of Station House Officer, Aluva East Police Station.

The FIR alleges commission of offence under Section 296(b) [Obscene acts and songs] of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Notably, this is the second such incident in a span of less than a month. Last month, a similar crime was committed against another High Court judge.
